My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here. Kathy and Len thought about everything! So much so that we never needed to ask for anything. The Cottage was very clean, stocked with supplies, and we had the joy of seeing the stars shine brightly almost every night. It's centrally located to a lot of sights in the area though there is also plenty to do at the cottage. We definitely plan on coming back!! We can't recommend this place enough!

I wanted a long weekend away from it all with my 17 year old twins and Dancing Bears was PERFECT! From my initial message to Kathy inquiring about her cottage, she was extremely helpful and responsive. The cottage was very well appointed with all the conveniences of home. The appliances and supplies were all great quality and you truly felt like you were in your home away from home. Kathy had some basic supplies already in the cottage, such as sugar, coffee filters,flour, ketchup, mustard; just to name a few! This place offered total serenity. The deck offered a wonderful hot tub that over looked the mountains and the patio had seating to dine and relax, with a gas grill, fire pit, and overlooked the orchard. Each evening we had a group of deer visit. The pond was absolutely beautiful in the mornings with the lilies in full bloom across it. It is also stocked with fish. I caught my personal best large mouth bass of over 10LBs!!! My son and I enjoyed catching many, many fish while my daughter relaxed in the hammock close to the ponds spring that flowed into it. We spent much of the day on the beautiful Maury River fishing and relaxing on the rocks. The evenings were spent enjoying a meal on the patio, chatting and making smores at the fire pit, and ending the night with a good movie. The movie collection is OUTSTANDING!
I would highly recommend Dancing Bears with absolutely no reservations and I plan to go back to this little paradise soon.

It is obvious that the owners put a lot of love and detail in their backdoor cabin. There is no amenity missed and they strive for the comfort of their guests. We stayed for four nights and never left the property. We spent our mornings kayaking on the small pond (perfect size for my 6 year old to be independent), zip lining from the tree house (only sized for the kids), and hiking by the creek and up the mountain. We spent our afternoons with a visit to the hot tub, playing boards games (all provided), and checking out the cabin's library of movies. Our evenings were around the fire enjoying each other and the setting. It was exactly what we wanted for our little vacation. Thank you to Kathy and her family. We are very grateful.

The Dancing Bears cottage proved to be the perfect location to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. This luxury cottage is perfectly, and uniquely, appointed. It is a bit remote, but once you are there you will not want to leave. We especially enjoyed the company of the perpetually happy Rufus the Wonder Dog. Our host, Kathy, insured everything was perfect for our stay.

I absolutely loved the time I spent at the Dancing Bear Cottage. I should preface this post by saying that I am not an outdoorsy person. That being said, a few days getting away from everything was much needed. The property and the cottage are both amazing. Everything you need for a comfortable stay, with nothing that you don't. The cottage is nicely appointed. The kitchen is well equip, and the bed is very comfortable. The property is picturesque with lots of spots to sit and relax. While the owners weren't there during the visit, I felt incredible welcomed and comfortable. I loved walking around the property, checking out all the wildlife. It was quiet and relaxing. I was able to read, drink wine, enjoy some great food from the kitchen and grill. just what I needed. I hope to go back again.

This was a surprise gift for my fiancé. Kathy was exceptionally helpfull prior to our arrival and throughout our entire stay. The cottage was clean and organized and Kathy was there to help with anything. My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though the weather wasn't great. When we were getting ready to leave a pretty severe snow and ice storm was close to the area and we had a 3 hour drive back, Kathy called to let us know we could stay another night if we needed to wait out the storm. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone and we plan on going back again.

We truly enjoyed ourselves at the cottage. Our 2 young boys loved the pond, and exploring the woods. It was very peaceful and the wildlife is remarkable! We will visit again!

Our experience at Dancing Bears Cottage was unbelievable. The cottage was spotless was fantastic.. Outdoor hiking trails, outdoor fire pit, hot tub, the pond...it was more than we expected. It is very private, peaceful...back to nature. We are going back in October!

Our stay at "The Dancing Bears Cottage" was an incredibly magical getaway for our family. The beautiful property spans across acres of breathtaking views, with a tranquil spring-fed pond graced with water lilies, stocked for fishing and canoeing. The restful hammock, nestled next to the soothing sound of a sweet waterfall was truly peaceful. This spot had all of the amenities for grilling while experiencing the water activities and endless fun! The enchanted cottage welcomed us with modern amenities and all of the comforts of "home". The customized architecture of the cottage windows invited in the breathtaking views of lush landscape, (as well as front row seats to the frolicking bunnies and humming birds)! The fire pit and jacuzzi provided endless fun late into the evening! The children roasted marshmallows, picked mulberries, fed bunnies, and watched the incredible array of wildlife from the deck! We spent a few days visiting Lexington, where we enjoyed an incredible July fourth festival, fireworks display, and hot air balloon extravaganza! Staunton was a gem, with charming shops and one-of-a kind treasures. However, we couldn't wait to go back to our fairy tale cottage. This vacation brought tranquility for my husband and myself, and a great adventure for the entire family! We are booking ahead to secure this enchanted cottage again next year!!
