Great place to get away, amazing house!

It was such a privilege to spend the night in a home built in 1740, to stand on a worn stoop where so many have stood before.
Our son loved it and saw farm life. It is important to us for him to have a complete education. This definitely was it.

We explored everything from pigs to bees to strawberries to quiet time that is rare in our world.

Amy and Michael were wonderful and it was a joy to share a love of history and farming with them.

Thank you Susan! We now have two litters of newborn piglets!!! Let me know when you want to come out, they will be cute for quite a while so no hurry.

This is a GREAT historic (1700s) farmhouse that far exceeded our expectations. It was clean and well-provisioned, and felt a little like having privileged access to the cordoned off rooms of a historical museum.
For our crew, the beautiful farm was as fun as the house-- we loved the friendly horse in the back pasture and the opportunity to see newborn calves and piglets up close- and to taste fresh eggs and sausage!
Amy & Micheal were gracious hosts-- answering all of our emails and calls immediately despite the 24/7 demands of running their farm. Amy picked up on our daughter's fascination with the animals and gave her a private tour of the "chicken inn", letting her hold a brand new chick!
We spent our days in Williamsburg with the hoards of spring break tourists, and though the commute across the ferry back to this house took a while (45 minutes to an hour with the ferry wait and ride), it was well worth it for such a peaceful retreat. We can't wait to go back, and might skip Williamsburg next time in favor of full days on the farm.
