Wonderful relaxing stay in charming cottage, fabulous owner

My wife and I, along with another couple, visited the Blue Pearl over the weekend for a short fall getaway from DC. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is full of charm and the furnishings are lovely, beachy zen meets modernist. It was such a comfortable, clean, and welcoming space. The kitchen was well equipped to cook a birthday fest! There is a gorgeous screened in porch that you can't see in the pictures. The location is fabulous- right by a marsh, close to downtown and just a few minutes drive (or bike ride) from the Wildlife Refuge/Beach. Such a relaxing getaway! Owners were so wonderful and very helpful. Cannot wait to visit again. Thanks so much.

Great Family Getaway

What a super place. Our family of four visited Chincoteague for the very first time this spring while the town and the island were still sleepy and quiet. The Blue Pearl was perfect. Clean, spacious, stylishly furnished in a beachy mid century way... It was comfortable and just what we needed. During warmer months, the decks will be perfect for sunbathing. If you bring bicycles, you will have everything you need to get around. We will definitely stay here next time.

Peaceful island oasis

Beautifully decorated, quiet retreat. in great location. You can see the Asseteague Lighthouse from out front. I actually found mattress to be fine in master bedroom but I did have the TV cable issue ( however owner has removed listing of that being an amenity) The house was very clean and everything worked fine for me. This place is close to everything the area has to offer and you can walk to restaurants and tidal views. You can walk to kayak and canoe rentals and you can bicycle to Asseteague
. If you want a serene natural spot this is it!

great house, quiet location

I wanted to write a fantastic review because the owner was so nice about everything.(management co. a little stiff/ maybe just professional). Instead I will make it honest for future renters. The house is in a very quiet location which was wonderful for us. You do have one house almost on top of you but there are trees and bushes in between and you didn't hear any noise from it. The screened porch on the other side looks into woods so more privacy on that side. Wished there was a table out there. They say the house is newly renovated- there is new paint and floors look newly redone but still old in many ways (peeling wallpaper in bathroom, broken locks on doors and windows). They need to replace the mattress in master bedroom and one of the twins- they look and feel about 30 years old. The sofa bed is actually a futon. We survived fine because I brought some foam things to put on the beds ($9 at walmart) that made it comfortable. The door of the 3rd bedroom does not close- a little problem for my adult daughter. We tried to close it as much as we could which caused a problem when she tried to get out to go to the bathroom at 6 am- it opened with a bang and woke everyone up. There is one tiny tv in bedroom and no dvd or cable/satellite as far as we could find. There were no instructions on where to find things or how to work them. Place was dirty when we got there- had to sweep up the house at the beginning and end (they say housekeeping is included but then the note you get when you pick up key is that you need to sweep, vacuum, and take out trash yourself). I am trying to be honest though a lot of these things may not bother some people at all- we actually had a very pleasant stay and the fact that it was so quiet at night and in the morning was a huge plus for us. I think if they put in new mattresses, fixed that bedroom door and sprayed for ants (and maybe changed their housekeepers) this house would be wonderful!
