My husband and I (and our dogs) spent five nights at this cozy cottage! It has a great location in which to visit wineries, breweries and restaurants in the area. The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous!!!! It is very private and the owner is great! We so appreciate that it is super dog friendly and has a great yard in which the doggies can run! If you're looking for a home base in the area, don't hesitate to stay here!

We loved this Cabin. We stayed with my sister in law and brother in law and our fur kids. Everything that we needed was here and Dick came to make sure we had everything we needed. The location is great to see the sights in Charlottesville, Staunton, and all the wineries, breweries, and hard cider places around the area. If you are a hiker Crabtree Falls is just awesome to hike too. Also close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Parkway. Having internet and dish network is an added bonus. You will not go wrong renting this cabin. Thank you Dick and Veegie

This was our third visit to Afton cottage and it feels like home. The cottage is always clean and cozy when we arrive. The small touches such as a hand written welcome note and treats for our pup are lovely. The cottage truly has everything you need with nice comfy beds, a well appointed kitchen, nice living room with very comfortable furniture and TV. Having said that, the setting is what really makes it stand out. It is peaceful and has beautiful mountain views as you approach. We love sitting on the deck with our morning coffee and watching the birds. Our dog loves the yard where he can safely explore and play and it is a great location for taking walks with him. The cottage is close to all sorts of great wineries, and breweries with tastings and good restaurants. We love to hike so and there are tons of options for great day hikes nearby. The cottage is an easy drive to Charlottesville with all sorts of fun places to explore. We will continue to come back to Afton Cottage as often as possible!

Thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway at Afton Cottage. First impressions always are important. Arrived at the cottage with the radio playing softly in the background, a nice welcome card with the names of all guests (even our two dogs), and dog treats wrapped in ribbons. Made us feel at home right away. The cottage is clean and well appointed--nice open feel. Dick, our host, visited the morning after our arrival to make sure we had everything we needed.
While the weather didn't cooperate all the time, it didn't bother us a bit as the cottage had plenty of good reading material, including a current selection of a variety of magazines. Enjoyed sitting in the cottage reading with the fire going when we weren't out exploring the surrounding area. So much to see and do so close.
Will definitely stay at Afton Cottage again!

I stayed here with a few friends for the labor day weekend. It was such a great cabin Blue Ridge Mountains. Dick greeted us on our first morning an suggested a great hike to Humpback Rock. Dick was a very kind host and very organized. We were able to bbq at the spot and had plenty of room for 5 people. Highly reccomend.

Within 15 minutes of entrance to Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Pkwy. And 25 minutes to Charlottesville. Plus several wineries and breweries within 15-20 minutes.

Very peaceful, relaxing cottage getaway near hiking trails, wineries, and breweries. Our pup enjoyed the milk bone treats left by the owner!
