This home was perfect for four friends and their kids to come together and have a relaxing, fun, and memorable vacation. The home is spacious and slept the 12 of us very comfortably. Wonderfully located hillside with beautiful views of ski resort!!!! 5star

We stayed at Drake Lodge for a friend reunion ski weekend with 3 families, and it was terrific. The location is wonderful- in the resort, so just a few minute drive to drop off skiers, and a nice view of the lower slopes. The house itself was spacious, recently painted, tastefully decorated, and had nice updates including new (quartz?) kitchen counters/lighting and new sectional sofa. This was possibly the best equipped rental we have ever stayed in- the kitchen has EVERYTHING you could want, and there are tons of games and movies. The bunk room downstairs was awesome - our kids made it their retreat. The only thing renters might want to be aware of (mentioned in other reviews) is that all the bathrooms are accessed through bedrooms, so there is no communal half bath - we all just used our own bathrooms, so it was not an issue for our group. One last bit of praise - we had a small, easily fixed plumbing issue during our stay, and Bob responded to our request within minutes and had someone at the house within an hour. Overall a great stay - I would highly recommend and would definitely rent again!

We were more than pleased with Drake Lodge. This was a family vacation with 6 adults and four little ones and this house more than accommodated our needs and provided each family with their own space. We prepared all of our meals there and the kitchen was very well stocked. There was nothing that we needed that was not there. The appliances, utensils, cookware, and dinnerware were all plentiful and of high quality. We look forward to visiting again and will recommend Drake Lodge to anyone traveling to Massanutten! This was our third stay at Drake Lodge - this time for a "cousins' week-end" get together. The consistent 5 star rating that you see here is well deserved! The home is beautifully appointed and well maintained. Bob Drake takes pride in his home and sees to it that every comfort is provided. Each time we stayed, we were treated to a new "home improvement" such as a new couch in the living room, a new refrigerator, or a fresh coat of paint throughout. And as many here have noted, Bob quickly responds to any questions or concerns. His easy manner and attention to detail create an ideal rental experience.
The lay-out of the house allows for both privacy and togetherness. It has been the perfect get-away for our children and grandchildren and equally perfect for my cousins...aged 50 to 70. You can choose to visit the near-by attractions or just stay home and enjoy an endless pot of coffee, the luxury of the house, and the year-round beautiful mountain environment. We're loved being there in late fall and are looking forward to a return trip in June.

Our family had the pleasure of spending the Thanksgiving holiday in this beautiful well maintained home! The house was very spacious and well appointed from a well stocked kitchen, where we cooked our Thanksgiving dinner, very comfortable beds, nice bed linens and a fabulous view of the mountains. We were able to enjoy some beautiful fires in fireplace, owner has wood all ready, while sitting around the fantastic dining table enjoying our family. The kids especially loved the bunk room, the lower level was great for the kids to hang out. The owners have lots of games so you don’t need to bring for kids! The weather was beautiful and we were able to spend time on the decks watching the deer in the rear yard! There is so much to do around the resort, it is a great place to vacation! Bob was wonderful to work with, we would definitely recommend this home and we hope to enjoy it again! Thanks again Bob!!

The Drake Lodge was a wonderful place to spend time with our family. Two grandparents from PA, sister from VA with two students currently at JMU who were able to join us, and sister from NC with her husband and two teen boys. Great accommodations, clean and spacious. Everything we needed or could ever want for our family Christmas. A fun time was has by all! Glad we found this place.

I rented this cabin with a group of friends, and we absolutely loved it. It's extremely spacious, and the layout is perfect for coming together as a group or catching some alone time. And don't get me started on those views.
Bob was easy to work with, and I would recommend his home to anyone looking to get away.

Visited Drake Lodge with several friends in tow to attend Homecoming at JMU. It was great to have a "home away from home" for the weekend. Very nice to all be together when we were home instead of in separate hotel rooms. The house is beautiful, clean and well-maintained. Also, has a wonderful view. The kitchen is very well appointed with any kind of appliance (big & small) that anyone would ever need. There are also some staple items available, which is nice when traveling. Bob was very helpful and easy to work with from beginning to end.
