After a very busy year, we wanted a little getaway for Christmas! This little gem was a great choice. The house is decorated beautifully and was warm and welcoming. It is stocked with everything you could need to feel like a home away from home! The pictures online absolutely did not do it justice and therefore we were pleasantly surprised by the amenities it offered. The only thing that was not quite as we had hoped it would be is that it is not quite as rural as we expected but what we got was definitely not disappointing! We would recommend this to anyone wanting a little cozy getaway!!

A very cozy cabin in a nice location, near Luray Caverns and a short distance to Skyline Drive. The whirlpool tub was a nice feature, especially after a long day of hiking. The house was well-equipped and there was also a nice pile of firewood for the outside firepit. The only negative was that it was difficult to control the heat. When the gas fireplace was used, the upstairs became unbearably warm. So it wasn't possible to enjoy the fireplace and also use the upstairs sitting room to read or play board games. Can avoid that if you just use the regular heat.

This cabin exceeded our expectations. The property location is perfectly located for privacy but not far from any shopping needs. The interior is so tastefully decorated and very well maintained. Being an avid cook, the kitchen is one of the best stocked that I have visited. Everyday we were graced by momma deer and two babies in the yard. There is not one negative that I could say and we have stayed in many homes, both domestic and overseas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return in the future.

Overall we were very satisfied with this cabin. Having stayed in cabins up and down the Valley this easily gets #1 for location, comfort, and ease of access.

My family loved the cabin. It was perfect for the 4 of us and very cozy. The fireplace was a big hit! Thank you for sharing your home with us

Had a great experience during our stay & loved the location and convenient accommodations in the cabin. We have three kids, ages 13 and twin 8 yr olds and a shit tzu. They all loved being outside playing in the spacious yard outside the cabin and looking for sticks to make a fire in the fire pit, where we made snores! Loved sitting on the swing on the front porch feeling the morning sun and relax! Loved it!

Our family stayed at Deer Country Log Cabin in July of this year. It was so beautiful! The cabin fit our needs perfectly and I just cannot say enough about how nice it was. We had 4 adults and 4 children and we all loved the cabin! The location was amazing within 5 miles of the caverns and Walmart but still out in the country with plenty of privacy. Thank you Pam and Ron and I hope we get to visit Luray again and Deer Country Cabin.

When we walked through the door of this cabin, we were blown away by how spacious it was. The web pictures don't do it justice. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and silverware with attention to detail such as an opener for wine bottles, charcoal and matches. Though the cabin is not far from a road, mostly you would never know it. It was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed playing badminton on the front lawn and sitting on the front porch in the evening. The property is clean and well maintained. It is also centrally located to New Market, Museum of Frontier Culture and lots of other "must sees" in the area. It is about 5 minutes from Luray Caverns. Other amazing things we did while there include tubing with Shenandoah River Outfitters , a visit to Luray Rescue Zoo, and a trail ride with Fort Valley Stables. The museum at New Market was awesome as was the Museum of Frontier Culture (in Staunton). We also hiked the White Oak Falls trail in Shenandoah National Park, but from the park boundary up to the Lower Falls rather than from Skyline Drive down. It was a nice hike and the falls were beautiful. When we contacted the owners regarding renting the property, Pam got back to us promptly and was both friendly and professional in all her contact with us. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend, and as a result of this experience I believe property rentals like this are the best way for a family to vacation. We would venture out to attractons or activities during the day and come home to a home-cooked meal and dvds and games or time on the porch to relax afterward. The cabin is set in a meadow but the Shenandoah Mountains are every where you look. It's a beautiful, peaceful spot.
