READ ON! Snowshoe is the highest-elevation ski-slope east of the Mississippi River, and the very best skiing south of Vermont. It boasts a yearly average of 15 feet of snow, a fifteen-hundred foot vertical drop, and 1.5-mile long trails. I
t provides challenges for the extreme skier while accommodating the novice. Night skiing is available. The village is situated on top of the mountain and delivers breathtaking views to the skier and non-skier alike.
Mountain Lodge offers views of the slopes, the valley and the lake. It is footsteps away from the village center. Pasta's restaurant, a staple for many years on the mountain, with a pub occupies the lower level.
Snowshoe’s fastest lift is just fifty feet from the door. Free parking is and located directly outside. Check-in is at the front desk of Mountain Lodge – no waiting in long lines.
The hotel-like lobby features comfortable couches, wing-back chairs, a roaring fire, and high speed wireless internet. Around the corner is a game room for the kids.
SKI-IN/SKI-OUT: Mountain Lodge occupies in the best spot on the mountain. The Catbird Seat occupies the best spot in Mountain Lodge! This spacious 1,000+ sq. ft. unit is one of six exclusive “St. Moritz” models, and you are truly “Sitting in the catbird seat” with the best views around!
Want company? Outside the front door is a public space with high stools and tables overlooking the lobby and slopes.
Want solitude? Light your own fire and watch the snow drift down over the mountains in the distance. Play a board game or watch a movie on DVD,VHS or CABLE (movies are stocked in the unit.) Movie rentals are also available at the front desk. You don’t need to ski to enjoy this condo!
The entry foyer has secure racks and shelves for all your ski equipment. The Master bedroom has a queen bed with TV/VCR. The second bedroom has two queens and TV. The living room has two queen pullouts with TV, VCR, DVD, AM/FM, and surround-sound. The fully equipped kitchen seats eight.
Linens, towels, bath soap, toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, coffee filters provided.
SUMMER & FALL The livin’ is easy at Snowshoe. With high temperatures in the 80’s and low humidity, Mountain Lodge is cooled by nature. It does not have A/C.
You can mountain bike on 120+ miles of trails on the 11,000-acre Snowshoe tract. The Raven Golf course is the finest in West Virginia.
Other nearby activities include hiking, camping, white water rafting and canoeing. The Cass Scenic Railroad runs sightseeing and dinner excursions on an historic steam-engine train. The National Radio Observatory runs tours on most days.

Mountain Lodge at Snowshoe, West Virginia
REFUND POLICY February 5, 2019
ALL refunds stated hereon are exclusive of any fees collected by the various website operators such as VRBO, HOMEAWAY, AirBnB, FlipKey, etc. and also exclusive of 3% Paypal or other credit card fees if incurred. There is a $50. Fee assessed for any refunds processed.
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER, ILLNESS, ACCIDENTS, ECT, NOR DO ANY REFUNDS INCLUDE MONIES FOR PRE-PURCHASED LESSONS, LIFT TICKETS, ETC. CONSIDER TRIP INSURANCE IF CONCERNED.
A. SKI SEASON: If the reservation is cancelled for any reason 60 or more days prior to check-in, the guest is refunded 100% of the monies paid.
B. If the reservation is cancelled for any reason 30 to 59 days prior to check-in, 50% of the monies paid are refunded. The rest of the rent may be reimbursed. See paragraph F, below
C. If the reservation is cancelled less than 30 days prior to check-in, there is no refund, except as covered in paragraph F, below
D. HOLIDAY DATES: For holiday dates, which are the weeks before and after Christmas, MLK Weekend, and President's weekend, Ski Season policy is in effect except that the deposit is held pending re-renting the property per F, below. .
E. SUMMER SEASON: Reservations may be cancelled for a full refund fifteen days or more prior to check-in, except July 4th weekend and GNCC Race weekends. They are treated the same as Ski Season (A), above.
F. LATE CANCELLATION: In the event of a late cancellation, we will attempt to re-rent the unit. If the unit can be re-rented, it will be, and the guest will be reimbursed after any costs are deducted, up to 100% of the rents paid.
G. This policy does not apply if the property is rented by the guest through Snowshoe Mountain, Mountain Lodge, or any other agency. In that case, the individual refund policies of the applicable agency will rule.
H. If it is necessary for the owner to cancel the reservation for any reason, a full refund will be returned. Refund will include any fees charged by the various website operators such as VRBO, Paypal, etc. Refund will NOT include any charges incurred by the guest such as pre-paid lift tickets, rentals, etc.

Excellent location!
We loved our stay! We could ski on and off, and were close to the village. Loved the common areas with games. Plenty of space and amazing view!

Beautiful Property Beautiful Family Time
My family of 5 stayed in this property for two nights just after New Years 2019 and we had a great time. The view was superb - a nice view of the lake, trees and a near by slope. Access to the slopes was super easy, walking right out the back of the Mountain Lodge. It also made it easy to duck in to the place for a quick lunch and then hit the slopes again. The sleeping accommodations were generous - definitely room for more than our 5. The owner was responsive to our calls when we had questions. It was a great family vacation which we will look forward to repeating in future years! Thank you!

Great view. Great location
Family enjoyed snowboarding at Snowshoe. Definitely returning. The Catbird was perfect for us and my husband and I hardly left the high top watching all the action. Our children and grandchildren loved the slopes. Will return again and hopefully to this very same unit. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Perfect location and spacious unit!!
This unit was clean and well stocked for our family of five! The location is within a few short steps of the Ballhooter lift and the unit itself was roomier than we expected. Mike was extremely friendly and quick to respond to our questions. Everything about this place is just perfect! We will be reserving the ‘Catbird Seat’ on future Snowshoe trips for sure!!

Great sunrise view and great view of the mountain
Great place as it is right on the mountain and you can ski right out. The place is dated with the furnishings, but well kept. I would stay here again.

Great place and location
Our second time here and will be back again. Great slope side location with everything we needed and plenty of bed space. Enjoyed the surround sound watching movies in the evening. Convenient to the Village with a great view. A few maintenance items needed such as sliding door and oven door but overall very nice and would recommend.
