Great, clean cabin conveniently located. This year we packed for the steps down the hill so it was easy to transfer our belongings. This cabin has everything you might need for a short stay. I would recommend replacing the futon mattress downstairs and adding reading lamps for the loft. We hope to return.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay in a cabin. I think we picked the perfect time because there was no one else there. There was no noise other than an occasional truck passing over on the highway. We would definitely stay again and would tell others the same thing.
A couple suggestions, a recliner chair would have been really nice for us older people. Most of the furniture was upright and no place to rest your feet. A pizza pan would have helped for our evening snack. We had to cut the pizza and put on two cake pans. Also, it would have been really nice for the little restaurant to be open for breakfast. We really enjoyed breakfast eating out and was disappointed to find it only opened at lunchtime. There isn't anything else really close to go to eat other than running into the local town and looking. Maybe you could put restaurants on a list and leave in the cabin so people know where they could go.
Thank you again

We really loved our stay at cabin #15. We needed a place to meet in the middle between Knoxville, TN and Washington, DC and this was it. We cooked some meals in and ate some meals out, and found the cabin to be a perfect size for two couples with infants who are not quite crawling yet. The gas fireplace made the whole place warm and inviting, and the location gave us easy access to Meadows of Dan and Floyd area attractions. At night, the stars and the total lack of noise pollution were stunningly beautiful. I wouldn't recommend this cabin for people with toddlers because the large stone coffee table and fireplace would be hazards. And for two couples who aren't close family, there might not be enough privacy. But for people with small babies, people with older kids, solo travelers, one couple, or larger groups who don't mind sharing spaces, it'd be great. Also, if you happen to be very tall, you know it can be hard to find beds in cute vacation rentals that don't have footboards. My 6'6" husband and I slept very well in the loft by putting the futon mattress on the floor. Serious foodies, I'd recommend bringing your own frying pan, a coffee grinder, and storage containers for leftovers. Otherwise the kitchen was very well equipped (MUCH better than most rental cabins in my experience). And if you don't eat pork, plan on picking up groceries in Floyd, not Meadows of Dan. We'll definitely come back!

My family loves these cabins! Steve and Linda were great to work with and very responsive. The cabins are part of a "neighborhood" of beautifully rustic cabins in the Cockram Mill Complex with all the comforts of home (TV, music, games, books). They are staggered and off a well maintained gravel drive up the ridge. We stayed in one of their cabins during the winter holidays in 2015, and loved it so much we came back to spend Christmas 2016 in the other cabin. There is a WalMart Super Center about 30 minutes away, and a little gas station-convenience/county store just 5 minutes up the road (fresh eggs, salt pork, deli etc). Don't forget to stop in the local candy and chocolate shop (Nancy's) 2 minutes away. The Blue Ridge Parkway is under 10 minutes away for scenic driving and great hiking opportunities. Highly recommended!

We had a very quiet and peaceful weekend in cabin 16. It was clean, well supplied with the essential items of "home keeping", and it a great location. I will say I was surprised by the number of ladybugs but they weren't really a problem. Thanks for providing a nice place for a late fall getaway.

My boyfriend and I had such a relaxing stay. Chateau Morrisette was a great experience, just in time for the changing leaves, just beautiful!

I went to visit my son, daughter-in-law, & grandson. I have been visiting this area for 11 years & this, by far, was our most pleasant stay as far as
lodging. The cabin exceeded our expectations! It was lovely, cozy, so clean, & everything we needed was provided. Fireplace, loft with comfortable
beds, porch, & of course, the most beautiful time to be there to see the foliage! We will definitely be back & also recommend it to others visiting the area. Thank you for providing such a lovely, clean, comfortable, & affordable cozy cabin in quaint Meadows of Dan right off Blue Ridge Parkway.
