The Blue Span Shenandoah Cabin is a romantic and private weekend getaway cabin with fantastic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. The cabin is surrounded by George Washington National Forest.
This is a modern cabin that has two queen-sized bedrooms, a full bath and fully equipped kitchen including microwave and coffee maker. There is a freestanding fireplace in the great room with a sleep sofa. The great room has ample glass for you to enjoy the views while relaxing in front of a fire.
The views from the cabin are nothing short of spectacular. See the sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains in the morning while enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Complementary coffee, tea and hot chocolate are provided for your pleasure.
You can enjoy cooking out with the charcoal grill in the evenings while watching the colors of the sunset illuminate the Blue Ridge Mountains. Relax in the comfy Hatteras Hammock for hours at a time.
The legendary Shenandoah River is but a short walk from the knoll where the cabin sits overlooking it. This stretch of the river is noted for outstanding smallmouth bass fishing and excellent canoeing, kayaking and tubing. There is also a Government stocked public fishing lake within a short walk, with wonderful views to pass the time.
The Shenandoah National Park is a short drive with its excellent hiking trails and fine native brook trout streams. Nearby is a host of recreational activities to include canoeing, tubing, hiking, biking and fishing.
Also, a number of excellent tourist attractions including Luray Caverns are close by.
All Pots, pans, and utensils and dinnerware are provided along with the basic condiments and paper products required for a relaxing stay. We also provide all linens and towels along with environmentally friendly long burning pressed wood fire logs for the fireplace.

We loved the cabin and the views. Kathy and Chris have thought of everything inside and outside the cabin from towels and sheets and a welll stocked kitchen to adarondak chairs on the porch. The fire place made our stay just perfect. Location is perfect for hiking, biking and river sports, but some driving needed to get to anywhere which we didn’t mind at all. Such a wonderful find, we almost wish we could keep it to ourselves! We hated to leave the idyllic cabin but will certainly be back.

Location was really great. We had excellent view of Blue Ridge mountain Range. Cabin was really nice, clean and seculaded. We celebrated our 20th Anniversary. It was really wonderful experience. Downtown Luray was also nice. Owner Chris and Kathy were very nice and helpful. We plan to come back again to enjoy fall colors.

This is lovely home in a beautiful location with a spectacular view of the mountains and close to the river. We spent most of our time in the backyard enjoying the serenity and views. Would definitely come back! Thank you!

I surprised my husband with a birthday weekend at Blue Span and we had the best time! The weather didn't particularly cooperate with some rain and fog, but it didn't take anything away from the coziness and beauty of this place. In fact it may have added - the sound of the rain in the trees with a fire indoors was lovely! The view is just utterly spectacular here, rain or shine. Even with low hanging clouds along the mountain tops it's one heck of a sight. The lot is quite unique for a hilltop cabin, with some flat area out back to relax on the deck or eat outdoors while taking in the flowers outside and the mountain scenery. The back of the home has an overhang, which is genius - we could sit outside in the rain with some wine and stay dry. We had sun our last morning and soaked it up coffee in hand. The house itself is cozily appointed, everything you could ever want or need, down to bath products Chris and Kathy kindly provide. Comfy couches and a few movies to choose from, and comfy beds and sheets. No complaints! You can walk down to the river and a fishing pond, and just down the road is Shenandoah River Outfitters to take out canoes/kayaks/etc. The town of Luray is adorable, with a very nice coffee shop, brewery, and a few surrounding wineries and distilleries. Though we didn't hike due to the weather, it was clear top notch hiking is in this area. Definitely something for everyone. We hope to come back in the summer to take advantage of the river access and star gaze. Absolutely my favorite cabin I've ever had the pleasure of staying in, and Chris and Kathy make sure you have everything you need. I don't think this one can be topped!

Lovely cabin perfect for our needs. Usually we spend all the time hiking and use the lodging as a place to crash. This one was so welcoming, it made us want to stay. Did our hikes, but looked forward to returning to the beautiful views, comforts and special landscape touches provided by the owner. Listed as a cozy romantic cottage, which it is, but we used it for a family birthday get away. Perfect for a small family or two couples. Kitchen well appointed with little extras that were very helpful.

The place was nice, clean, and comfortable. The directions provided by the owner were perfect and necessary since GPS gave out with a good distance left. The view of the mountains was beautiful as was the view of the sky. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet mountain getaway that's not too far from civilization.

This is a return visit for us and the mountain view from the house is just as beautiful as it was last summer. Once again the cabin had the personal touches of basic condiments provided as well as pretty pansies set out on the patio. The owners Chris and Kathy are close by and quick to respond to any questions. The short walk to the Shenandoah river and path along the river make for a very nice hike. The coziness of the cabin and the view from the back windows are very special and we hope to return once again.
