Located between Lynchburg and Bedford, Rose Cottage is within a short drive to Liberty University, University of Lynchburg, Randolph College and Sweet Briar College. It is also close to the Appalachian Trail and has a view of the Peaks of Otter.
Truly a gardener's dream, the home is surrounded by mature landscaping, including speicment trees and shrubs and a formal and very private rock-walled formal rose garden that is directly accessible from the home. Surrounding the gardens are open fields with grazing horses,a herd of miniature donkeys that eagerly anticipate meeting our guests, a fishing pond stocked with bass and several miles of wooded trails.
The interior features a large master bedroom suite with a king-size bed and attached bath, additional bedroom with a full-size bed and full bath, office/studio with tv and dvd player, large living room and elegantly appointed dining room, sunroom overlooking the formal gardens, full kitchen and laundry.

About The Owner
My husband and I have owned the farm for 30 years. My husband owns a small printing business and I run the farm and also do some free lance writing. We both ride and I hike, mostly along the Appalachian Trail. We know our area well and take pride in showing visitors where the best spots in the area can be found for dining, seeing the sites, shopping, hiking and exploring.

Rose Cottage is located at Oldenacres Farm, which is a farm dedicated to caring for retired sport horses. Horses come to us because they can no longer be ridden, yet the owners care enough that they want their beloved horses to spend their final years in a caring and comfortable environment. We keep a total of 17 horses on the farm and this includes a small herd of four rescue donkeys and a Molly mule. The setting is quiet, peaceful and quite beautiful with a backdrop of the Peaks of Otter, pond, mature forests and open fields.
