This basement studio apartment, "Oxie", is within walking distance to UVA, Barracks Road Shopping Center & both Scott Stadium & JPJ Arena. There is a bus stop a couple of blocks away; downtown is just a mile and a half with many restaurants, galleries and Sprint Pavillion; the airport is less than 10 miles.
All so convenient! The neighborhood is quiet and there is a nice separate outdoor area to enjoy during the day or evening with a book; it even has a charcoal grill.
This studio apartment is 1.5 miles to both The University and to downtown Charlottesville. It offers it’s own private entrance, a main living/dining area with flat screen TV, speakers to attach your MP3 player and “crazy fast internet” via Ting (no cable), a comfortable firm (not hard!) queen bed, a full kitchen and large bathroom with roomy shower.
For those staying a month or longer, there is a front load washer and dryer, too.
We do NOT allow parties or gatherings of more people than those listed as staying at Oxie; this property is downtown and being respectful of our neighbors is paramount.
Also, see our romantic & secluded log home in Northern Virginia just minutes to Washington D.C.

I have been renting spaces for years; our log house (with main house and efficiency options) outside of Leesburg, VA since 2007, our house in downtown Wilmington, NC since 2012 and our Charlottesville, VA walk-out basement apartment just this year (2017). My husband retired last year and now helps me with the houses and rentals; I like to think we are both "semi-retired". Whenever we have the chance we travel too!

Staying at Oxie shall surely be a true pleasure and I guarantee the best care from Katheleen and her Husband. They make the guest feel comfortable and relax during the stay. Absolutely a fantastic place . Would love to come back again as and when I plan to come Charlottesville again.

This is a sunny, ground floor entrance apartment with an entrance from the driveway outside. The apartment was nicely furnished and included a gas cooking stove, fridge, and dishwasher. A new smart TV and DVD player was also provided. It was cold during our stay but the hosts had thoughtfully provided an electric space heater. The bed was very comfortable.

Kathleen makes you feel very welcome; very proactive communications prior to my arrival and did a great job showing me around the apartment! She wants you to feel welcome, and the fantastic condition of the apartment is testament to her commitment!

The apartment was exactly as described and the perfect location to everything in Charlottesville. Mrs. Kathleen was super helpful and available to answer all of our questions! We enjoyed our time in Charlottesville and the apt worked out perfectly for us! Anyone interested in renting this AirBnB, I highly recommend! We would definitely stay again. While you're there, you MUST eat at The Bluegrass Grill, Bodo's, and Tavola!!! The wait is worth it at all 3!

Kaki and Ted are two very nice people. They were very helpful and did everything they could to make sure my time staying at their place was great. The place is in a great neighborhood and conveniently located to the major highways throughout the area. I accepted a position at the University of Virginia and needed a place to stay at long term while my house sold in Ohio and the new home closed in VA. The place is very clean and it has everything you need in order to prepare meals. The WiFi is great and the home is within walking distance to the University. I walked home from work the first day after Ted dropped me off in the morning. Overall everything was superb. I would stay again here in a heartbeat! Thank you for sharing your place with me Kaki and Ted!
