A true gem! A unique experience for a couple or family with small children. If you love trains or are a "foamer" this is the place to stay! Visited nearby Natural Bridge, which was quite jaw dropping and a wonderful hidden treasure in Virginia! Also the C&O museum is nearby as well. Lots of interesting places to visit in the area.

Such a wonderful place. From the overall atmosphere to the amazing attention to detail. Drawer full of games and toys helped keep the kiddo entertained. This is a small space, but the well thought out layout makes it feel much larger. The outdoor seating area and hobo fire pit were great each evening. Loved the outdoor lighting. The train theme is well carried out inside and out. Very quiet area with lots of room to roam the property and enjoy a getaway!

We had a wonderful time in the caboose! From the railroad crossing sign that lights up when you arrive to all of the decorations and books in the caboose, it's clear that Tom put a lot of thought into making the caboose a very unique and special place to stay. It's a small space for those on the taller side, but Tom provided everything you need to be comfortable. It's a beautiful location and an easy drive to nearby Natural Bridge and Lexington. It's definitely the most unique place we have ever stayed!

This caboose is really cool and fun, especially if you have kids! There are a lot of family friendly activities in the surrounding area; Natural Bridge state park and caverns, Natural Bridge zoo, Dinosaur Kingdom and the Virginia Safari park. Plus lots of great scenic drives off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The caboose has a lot of really great original features and plenty of space for a family. our two little boys thought the cupola was so cool and loved exploring around the caboose. Couldn't have asked for a better time!

Our family had an amazing time staying in this old caboose. Tom has left no stone unturned when it comes to the details on the caboose and property. From the moment we pulled in and saw the authentic railroad lights to the 3+ acres of beautiful property, we had an amazing weekend. The kids and dogs absolutely loved the wide open grass fields and stream on the property, not to mention the surprise of having friendly horses from the property next door to feed carrots each morning. Additionally the outdoor patio is amazing with both charcoal and gas grills and gas or wood burning firepits. Not too keep bragging about our stay, but the local area was also amazing with the Natural Bridge State Park and Safari Park within 3 miles. Needless to say we had a special weekend, thanks Tom.

This was exactly what we were looking for. I’d say this was similar to glamping. We really enjoyed it. We loved the ease of the gas fire place! Made having a quick smore before bed no hassle.
