Hello from Bill and Stephanie Talbot. Three years ago we built our dream home, Whispering Oaks, in the Shenandoah Mountains. Having traveled extensively for the military, we now teach at a local community college and are avid hikers. We love our community and the outdoors so much we wanted to share it with others. We are now proud to offer Whispering Winds for families and friends to gather in the mountains to revel in the starlit skies, to enjoy the River, the hiking, the farm markets, the quaint country festivals and especially to relax and get away from it all. It is our hope that you come to Whispering Winds as guests and leave as friends.

This property is wonderful! The house itself is spacious, beautiful, well decorated, functional, comes with all of the necessary amenities, and was extremely clean. Now the view - WOW. Stunning. If you’re looking for a nice place to stay with family or friends look no further. We didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful house and views. Incredibly peaceful and quiet. Very comfortable beds, plenty of toys for kids, books for adults. Grill, fireplace and outdoor firepit on site. A wonderful place to stay. So many things to do nearby.

Very clean and beautiful property! Outstanding view. Thank you for all the little details. Kiddos loved the game room and blocks.

The house is beautiful and just as it appears in the photos. It was a great location for day trips to Luray Caverns, kayaking on the Shenandoah River, and of course Shenandoah National Park. There are plenty of brochures and maps in the house as well to help you find local activities. The owner Bill was very welcoming and responsive via text. Would absolutely stay here again!

Our group loved this home so much! We have been on several trips together and all agreed this was the best property we have stayed at. It looks exactly like the photos and has an incredible view. It takes a bit to get to off the main roads but the location, view, privacy, and home itself are so worth it. The hosts were friendly and communicative. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to others.

Truly enjoyed my stay here. The view was spectacular and even in March we managed some time outside on the deck to enjoy. It’s very quiet and peaceful. The house was exactly as pictured and had everything we needed. Highly recommend for a peaceful, nature filled getaway.

House was beautiful! Check in was a breeze and house was clean when we arrived. Beds were very comfortable. It wasn’t a big deal but do bring extra towels with you as there were only 6 towels in the whole house, unless you don’t mind doing laundry during your stay.
House had unbelievable views throughout, but the view from the living/dining area was spectacular! Close enough to civilization to get necessities or dine out but far enough away to feel very secluded. We very much enjoyed our stay!

View from main living area is hard to beat. Better is the walk out front door access to good hike.
